📢Permission for what???
There’s nothing wrong with trying something new and not asking permission to do so.
I started my business, solely as virtual assistance. I had the organizational skills and executive experience which set me apart from the abundant pop ups of other virtual assistant companies.
Then, the pandemic happened and there was this mortgage rates dropped like grandma catching the holy ghost. And I jumped on the loan signing đźš‚. Oh, this could be lucrative niche of my own lane!
So, I 🏊🏽‍♀️ in head first, did my research, took the courses, joined the Clubhouse groups, networked across the country and found mentors and received licensing in Virginia and Washington, DC. Which led me to processing apostilles and legalizations (shoutout to the apostille queen @AnayansiEnglish ).
I was so excited, I’m about to get this 💰 on these home loans and apostilles! Well, that did not happen. I made some money, but not enough to make a dent and certainly not for the long term.
What I didn’t realize was I wasn’t the only one on the 🚂 and this was a temporary rarity in a very critical, desperate time. Notary “agencies” were popping up everywhere, low balling their pay rates, title companies wanted these random number of signings before considering you; I went to strangers homes, taking chances with my safety. I even signed up for a two- year printer purchase on loan 🤦🏽‍♀️. I just knew I would make it back in two- three months. I did not, paid it off and use it once a month🤷🏽‍♀️.
It’s ok to try things, it’s ok to change your mind, it’s even ok to risk it all (within reason) without approval or validation. While the 🥅 you aimed for wasn’t reached, you 🏆 something more valuable- growth and wisdom.
